Contracting Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Contracting Specialist to manage agent contracting and carrier appointments within the Medicare insurance space. This role is responsible for initiating, tracking, and maintaining carrier contracts and ensuring agents meet all licensing, certification, and compliance requirements to be production-ready.

Key Responsibilities:

• Initiate and manage agent contracts with Medicare insurance carriers, including but not limited to Humana, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare (UHC), and Cigna, Zing, Aetna Med-Supp, UHone,

• Conduct onboarding and contracting calls with agents to guide them step-by-step through the contracting and appointment process

• Set clear deadlines and expectations for agents to ensure timely completion of contracting requirements

• Collect, review, and submit all required contracting and appointment documentation

• Obtain and track required certifications and compliance documents, including AHIP, AML, and other carrier-specific requirements

• Track contract and appointment statuses and proactively follow up with carriers as needed

• Communicate regularly with agents regarding requirements, progress, and outstanding items

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of contracts, appointments, and certifications

• Identify and assist in resolving contracting or appointment issues in a timely manner

• Ensure compliance with carrier guidelines, CMS requirements, and internal processes

Qualifications:

• Prior experience required with insurance carrier contracting in the Medicare space

• Strong understanding of agent onboarding, licensing, and carrier appointment processes

• Experience conducting agent onboarding or contracting calls

• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills

• Ability to manage multiple contracts, agents, and deadlines simultaneously

• Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills
